Meet the Team

The people that raised us, the ones we grew up with, that we learned how to navigate life with, and the people that have been part of our story these past six years. Plus, the ones that are completely new here (meaning to earth because they’re children). Our wedding is about our love, of course, but it is also about the incredible humans who have made our lives together so far an adventure. Each person as a small anecdote about what makes them special and why they mean so much to us. Please read through and be sure to say hello at the wedding!

  • MOTHER OF THE GROOM

Known simply as Ima to both family and friends, she is a small-but-mighty Israeli woman with a huge heart and an even bigger love for her kids. She raised the Berk family on her own with strength, patience, mediterranean recipes, and boiling hot cups of coffee.

  • Flower Girl

Sophia is one of the strongest and bravest girls with the biggest heart. She loves unicorns and glitter and being the life of the party. She has been on Spring Break since she was two years old. She was flower girl at Adriel and Abby’s wedding and we are so happy to have her show Mila the ropes at ours!

  • BROTHER OF HONOR

When Bashel and Adriel were kids, they didn’t have cable. This meant that they needed to find other ways to entertain themselves, so they would make up games wherever they could. Their favorite was “The Last One”, where they would try to have the final sliced cucumber at dinner. Adriel once hid his on top of a picture frame, and Bashel has still never won this game.

  • SISTER-IN-LAW

Abby is the big sister Bashel never had. She’s the first person Bashel goes to when she needs an honest opinion on anything; interior design, career advice, and even the wedding dress. If you think we love Facebook Marketplace, Abby is the Queen of it, able to find thousand dollar items virtually for free. She and Mila broke into our apartment while we were in Barcelona and decorated it as an engagement surprise.

  • SISTER OF THE GROOM

The eldest of the Berk children, Talia spent a majority of her early years tolerating Eric and Dan’s choices and making sure they didn’t get into too much trouble. Now an amazing wife and incredible mother, you can find her in a very similar position, chasing after Blake! Maybe things haven’t changed so much after all…

  • BROTHER-IN-LAW

Matt married into the Berk family and somehow survived, earning him lifelong respect. A devoted husband to Talia and an incredible father, Matt can usually be found getting his cardio in with Blake, balancing out the Berk chaos, or watching New York sports let him down. He fits right in.

  • FLOWER GIRL

Mila, or Mila Bo Bila for long, is Adriel and Abby’s daughter and comedy legend, she lives to entertain. For Halloween in 2025, she wanted to be a Shabbat table (she wore it for one minute after being bribed with a piece of candy). Half of Bashel and Daniel’s vocabulary is just Mila quotes.

  • RING BEARER

Blake, Blakey, Blak-a-man is also known as the Energizer Bunny. Ever since he was 7 months old, he loved to jump over and over for ten minutes at a time and he wouldn’t get tired. Soon after he learned to run (specifically away from his parents and towards danger). One of the happiest people to ever grace this earth.

  • BRIDESMAID

That’s Doctor Shayna Khaymovich to you, and she is Bashel’s oldest friend. Legend has it, they met at the local playground as their soviet babysitters shared a cigarette. Their favorite tradition is spending the first day of the new year together at the Lubarsky household, eating delicious home cooked food, talking plans and dreams for the following year, and reminiscing on their shared childhood.

  • BRIDESMAID

Roshelle and Bashel are friends by both chance and choice. Neighbors by chance, and after numerous elementary squabbles over who-knows-what, they always made up by choice. These days they hardly argue, preferring to spend their time chatting about adult life and playing board games, or going dancing. And now they’re neighbors in Brooklyn (by choice!) and get to see each other all the time.

  • FATHER OF THE BRIDE

Growing up, Bashel loved weddings. When she was little she would accost her father in the middle of a twelve person dinner party and say, “Daddy! Marry me!” Alex would interrupt the entire dinner party each time, and put on a mini wedding. He never missed a performance, show, or play, but he did forget to pick Bashel up from Hebrew school once…

  • MOTHER OF THE BRIDE

In 2020, Alina decided she wanted to build a pool. But not just any pool. This pool has an entire 10×10 kiddie pool area for her future grandchildren. This was before either of her children were even married. Now, her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and all her friends enjoy the pool every summer. Any excuse to spend time with her loved ones.

  • SISTER-IN-LAW

Amanda joined the Berk family and immediately elevated everyone’s standards for food and dining. A true foodie at heart, she’s always on the hunt for the next great meal. And yes, it will be photographed. Warm, stylish, and endlessly fun to be around, Amanda brings great taste and even better energy to the family.

  • BROTHER OF THE GROOM AND BEST MAN

The middle Berk sibling, Eric spent his early years being a partner in crime with his siblings. Eric and Dan spent a ton of time together skiing, competing, and to Ima’s disapproval, partying. These days, he’s all heart, always showing up for family, friends, and anyone lucky enough to be in his circle

  • BRIDESMAID

A school neither of them wanted to go to, and a Wednesday pop quiz in a class Bashel shouldn’t have been in, led to a ten years (and counting) of beautiful friendship. Ruth and Bashel are two peas in a pod, Bashel used to tell people they were twins and Ruth would immediately let people know that they weren’t. They have grown together through every stage of adulthood so far, and this is just the beginning!

  • BRIDESMAID

You would never believe it, but despite going to the same school, growing up in the same neighborhood, and being friends with the same people, Bash and Mel didn’t become friends until after high school graduation. Their favorite pastime is putting on a good movie, cracking open a bottle of wine, and not watching the movie at all and talking for the entire duration.

  • BRIDESMAID

No matter where they find themselves, Bashel and Marisa will be dancing and having a great time. In the short three years that they have been friends, they’ve gone to, what feels like, a hundred different music shows around the city. If it was up to Marisa, they would be going to at least two every single weekend.

  • BRIDESMAID

Dasha and Bashel immediately connected over growing up as Soviet Jews and their shared love of impromptu road trips accompanied by a beverage, a perfect playlist, and the same 10 conversations they’ve had a million times. For example: Dasha unfollowed Dan on instagram a month before Bash and Dan started dating because she thought she would never see him again.

  • GROOMSMAN

Nick and Dan were roommates freshman year of college, quickly becoming close due to their shared interests, hobbies, and standards for what a clean room is (not). What started as a seemingly random housing assignment turned into a lasting friendship built on plenty of unforgettable memories.

  • GROOMSMAN

Austin has been by Dan’s side since Pre-K, somehow making it through elementary school, high school, college, and even the same fraternity in one piece. A lifelong best friend in every sense, Austin has been there for the milestones, the memories, and everything in between. Loyal, dependable, and always up for a good time, he’s family at this point, and has been for a long time.

  • GROOMSMAN

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more.

  • GROOMSMAN

Mike is Ruth’s other (better?) half. Bashel was happily their third wheel for three years, and then she brought in Dan. In the past six years, the four of us have been on countless adventures together. Festivals, escape the rooms, board games, and dinner parties. We’ve grown together and love talking about what the future holds for the four of us.
